Fpl Job Opportunities – Environmental Specialist

Job Description:

Florida Power & Light has an immediate need for an Environmental Specialist who will work closely with Power Delivery’s Engineering & Technical Services and Central Maintenance & Construction organizations, to provide environmental compliance support for various projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides project management support
• Coordinates environmental due diligence
• Communicates effectively about environmental permitting and issues
• Provides environmental permitting and compliance technical support to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations
• Supports root cause analysis of environmental events
• Supports environmental permitting
• Provides recommended solutions to environmental challenges to minimize environmental impact
• Coordinates oversight of environmental compliance
• Identifies and mitigates environmental risks
• Develops environmental processes, procedures and environmental awareness training

Job Requirements:

• GIS skills a plus
• Independent, ability to multi-task, and stay organized
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• 4-7 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree Required; Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Strong analysis, problem solving, and professional skills

Qualification & Experience:

• Master’s Degree
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: 2+ years
